TODAY AS THEN

Angelo Marchesi opened the doors to the eponymous Pasticceria in 1824. Today, his grandson, also named Angelo, ensures this 200 year old Milanese icon is faithful to its traditions steeped in history and to its artisan products. Immune to fads, then as now, all specialties are prepared the old-fashioned way; focused on craftsmanship and dedication to quality.

Here is the new year gift !!

Prior to my visit, I had only tasted Marchesi chocolates in a New Year's gift from Prada, but the in-person experience defied my expectations!

With a series of arched windows designed to pay tribute to the ageless allure of the historical site, you will find the shop shares an entrance with the Osservatorio Fondazione Prada

With a splendid view of overlooking Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II’s mosaic pavements, Marchesi is a destination you won’t want to miss! I highly suggest making reservations ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Speaking to the hostess initially, she couldn’t find my reservation. It was only when she walked to another side to check another book, my name was found!

Because of my gluten-free and dairy-free diet, I cannot vouch for their dessert personally, however, the 200 year old pastry shop has a widespread reputation for its confections, made “fresh and new” daily for their client, DON’T MISS their signature chocolates and their classic Milanese Panettone!!!

Here is the first picture I shot in Marchesi, a space designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi and orchestrated by Marconi.

Can you notice what I added to my original picture?

Before we came to Milano, our theme for this Prada trip was the 70s inspired. Serendipitously, the posters on the wall and on the floor were shot in 70s! “She“ became our imaginary waitress from 1970’s .
