In the beginning, no one knew what I was doing.

Most of my friends said my goals - including having my studio, my brand, watching official fashion shows,  were impossible.

Still today, I hear the same comments when I talk about my “impossible” goals.

At the same time I finally had my own space in Vancouver and Taiwan and launched my first product #DaisycodeFlora mask featured in Vogue FNO.

Everyone told me I have to “focus on one thing“. But I have many facets that make my life shine and I reject comments like “only one thing ”.

I was not happy. I knew I could not give up a single one of the outputs that add so much joy and colour to my life. That’s why I created other two accounts @daisycode_ @daisycode_ca. In doing so I find the freedom to find my authentic self, the joy and my passion as a creator.

Finding out Prada wanted to provide an inclusive trip to Milan was surreal and entirely unexpected.

When people called me a “Makeup Artist” I can’t help but feel the label does not encompass my entire practice as “Daisy”.

After graduating from Blanche Macdonald’s Makeup program, I started to do #ootd on Instagram and fashion photography as MUA. But I wanted much more.

I signed up for “Photography Mastered” after learning photography for a month. They said only experienced candidates would be considered but they reconsidered and accepted me when I told them how much I wanted to be in and showed my work Vogue IT featured works.

Its impossible to tell whether something will be good or bad in an instant, storytelling needs time. I enjoy seeing the unfolding narrative in art and people who embrace their own story.
