A Jet-Lag Curing Spa

After a long journey (made pretty enjoyable by the Emirates Airlines' in-flight bar) I finally arrived in Milan! My partner and I headed directly to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel - the arrangements Prada made for us. As you can see, this hotel combines a elegant mixture of Eastern and Milanese features in the four 18th-century buildings it occupies. In the heart of Milan, the Mandarin Oriental is but steps from La Scala.

We arrived a little ahead of schedule so we took the opportunity to check out the Mandarin Bar & Bistro restaurant on the first floor, the same space for breakfast!

Spa & Wellness

After a few drinks, we decided to go for the spa treatments Prada had arranged for us before dinner at RESTAURANT TORRE and BAR LUCE and the opening of the "Surrogati Un Amore Ideale” exhibition. With the packed schedule I didn’t want to miss a thing!

After showering and the typical preparations for the spa, the more relaxed I got the more my severe my jet lag became! But with an action packed evening, we enjoyed the lounge area for a bit more after the treatments and went to our room to prepare for an extraordinary evening!

Get Ready With Me + Mini Hotel Room Tour

In the room I started to unpack my luggage while enjoying some colourful Oriental Mandarin chocolates as a pick-me-up! The interiors were charmingly minimal with a bed facing floor-to-ceiling window that open onto the atrium of Seta Can, a beautiful location for lunch and dinner.

With not much time to spare, one of the most important factors to complete a natural “delicate” makeup look within an hour is the condition of your skin. Skin in good condition will look vibrant and energetic even without too much makeup. Relaxing at the spa really helped this look come together!

La Scala is one of the most famous opera houses in the world, well known for having hosted Italy's greatest operatic artists, and many of the finest singers from around the world. Officially opening its doors to patrons on August 3, 1778, it was called Nuovo Regio Ducal Teatro alla Scala (New Royal-Ducal Theatre alla Scala). The premiere performance was Europa riconosciuta (Europe Revealed) by Antonio Salieri.
