However ,once the Statue of Liberty was moved back to France,Japan miss her a lot !!The present statue is a replica created in 1999 with official permission from the city of Paris and was unveiled on December 22, 2000.

The best spot to take its photos is the promenade called Skywalk, which connects the Odaiba Marine Park and the Symbol Promenade Park.


Why does Tokyo have a Statue of Liberty?

I believe it’s most of people’ question of the first impression of the Statue of Liberty.

The French Statue of Liberty from the Île aux Cygnes came to OdaibaTokyo, from April 1998 to May 1999 in commemoration of "The French year in Japan",A Symbol of the Japan-France friendship.  Because of its popularity, in 2000 a replica of the French Statue of Liberty was erected at the same place.
