4 Tips for getting away from Tired Eyes!!
Content Editor: Alice On
Do you look as tired as you feel?
Just when you think you're hiding your lack of sleep, stress, or anxiety - tired eyes betray how you really feel.
Eye bags, dark circles, uneven skin tone or sallow skin are the usual suspects that make me look fatigued. In these situations what often stands in between you and the forgiving blanket of foundation is the “Grey“ cast or ”Cakey” texture that appear when trying to conceal the under eye areas! Unfortunately makeup is not the answer - it’s time to investigate your health and life habits to uncover more permanent solutions!
Real health radiates from the inside out. I design products like the DaisyCode Flora Mask as a part of a Lifestyle, because its only when we can fill our daily self-care routines with things that suit our level of motivation, budget and environment can we achieve true skin health. Here are just a few ways I deal with looking “tired”!
1. Stay Away from Stress and Blue Light to Maintain Quality Sleep
Have you heard the saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”? Putting down the phone, casting your gaze into the distance or closing your peepers are still the most effective ways to let tired eyes rest properly. We humans sleep through a third of our lives, if that quality of sleep is poor or a lack of sleep is an enduring condition, our immune system will weaken, causing the body to be inflamed and more prone to cell deviations and irreversible damage. Stress is also a huge factor in poor sleep. In this way the skin and eyes are often the first warning signs of potential health issue or communicating the body’s need to rest. If you ignore its message, you may need to spend a lot more time and money to solve future health issues.
2. Skin Care Routines for Loving Every Single Day
A lot of people asked me why should they take so many steps every day for skin care? Is there an easier way to maintain good skin balance? In one word, no. There are no shortcuts to enduring results. With simple practices to maintain good health, natural beauty will come from inside out!
Weapons of Choice
Deep hydration toners, lotions or face oils, eye creams and facial mask come together to form an indispensable hydration skin care routine. If there are no outstanding skin problems, you may wish to add a cleansing mask, normally used twice a week before the normal routine, as a part of your skin care arsenal. Don’t forget to research carefully to choose an eye cream which compliment your skin composition to hydrate + moisturize DAILY!
What If I Was Born This Way?
I once heard someone said they were born with sallow skin and tired eyes. WRONG! To know your skin type is to take time to embrace one’s natural beauty! Olive skin is the best example. When working with this rare and special skin tone, the best thing is the natural glow. Often mere foundation is enough to give the base to their makeup, no concealer required. This jade-touched complexion is an uncommon blend of neutral undertones, which produces a beautiful olive tint. Light olive skin typically has cream to beige undertones where darker olive skin is moderately brown.
You've got to take care of yourself. Its no one else’s responsibility. Our bodies give us many signs and over time these may change as the body’s function gradually declines with age or is continuously overworked. It naturally takes more effort to maintain our physical and mental health as time goes by.
Tip: The skin around the eyes is extremely thin and fragile, that’s why eye cream products are formulated especially for the under eyes area and general skin care products are not recommended!
Collagen will be lost over the years, but moisturizing and hydrating the skin the right way day and night is the best and easiest way to slow down collagen loss.
