To celebrate Chinese New Year CHANEL launched the limited-edition ROUGE ALLURE VELVET gift set - An elegant black case that opens to reveal 3 iconic ROUGE ALLURE VELVET shades nested in a red interior.

Picking colours is so much fun with each with the personalities they bring forth on different skin tones! With this box set, I was inspired to share my process for picking just the right! When you watch my lipsticks swatch video you can see all 3 shades have a similar undertone, however even slight differences can make your complexion brighter and rosier!

Finding a lipstick that Works with your skin tone

There are three classifications for undertones: warm, cool and neutral. If you want to find to right lipstick colours, learning about your skin tone will help you would find your ideal colour families.

Is blue a cool colour? Yes and No!! Blue also has warm and cold tones, bright and deep colours, etc. Because of these distinctions there are four different colour families: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

Generally my skin is warm tone. Lucky for me the lipsticks in the set are all warm tone colours - 43 (La Favorite) and 58 (Rouge Vie) are autumn, and 57 (Rouge Feu) are spring. If you’re interested in any of these shades individually they are all sold separately without the set so go pick your perfect match!
